Nail Polish

As much as I love getting my nails done at a salon, I love to go out and look for new pretty nail polishes. Okay, I lied. I never got a manicure but I have gotten fake nails countless times. I just don't see the point in getting a manicure when you can do that at home. Plus, my nails were and have always been tiny. I just imagined them doing the same quality job as I can at home. So, for all you girlies out there who has normal sized nails and can grow them long, I envy you! I can't wear dark colors on my nails, it'll just make my nails look even smaller and I can't ever do a french tips. So, I've been searching (not really, just can upon to) a handful of nail colors and products that work for me. Keep in mind my skin tone is rather fair.

I've stuck with just a solid color for my nails. No designs or french tips, not enough room on my nails =(

Essie: Lilacism
I've discovered this nail polish brand when I was flipping through a magazine. I was sad to find out that they didn't sell that in Canada at the time or I just wasn't aware of where to find it. When I visited the states in 2010 was when I came upon this color. I've never tried purple on my nails before but my lord, the color looked so beautiful just sitting in the bottle. Right when I got back home from the store I put it on right away and I was in love! It compliments my skin tone so well. It's not too white and not too heavy on the color. Not saying that it doesn't show it's color, it does, but this shade of color is just perfect. Ever since I bought this I've been wearing it for 6 months (and counting) on and off. Now that I know stores in Canada carry Essie (Trade Secrets is one) I am happy! I have a couple other colors by Essie also but, by far this is my favorite nail polish brand and color so far. It might be a bit pricey for some, even for me but, I know I will be getting my money's worth =)

Rimmel London: French Manicure in French Rose

Now, this one I bought just last night when I was walking around the mall. I needed a new nice light pink nail polish since my old one by CQ was getting old and more than half way done the bottle. I put it on the same night and I love it. I put on a base coat by L'oreal and two coats of the Rimmel London: French Rose. I'm not going to lie, I can't stop admiring my nails. They look healthy, clean, fresh, and natural. All for under 4 dollars?! Heck yeah, it's worth it. I never knew Rimmel had a new line that's called French Manicure. I only knew their 60 Seconds Dry ones. I will go back and have a deeper look on their new colors.
